ACADEMIC SUPPORT CENTER
Are you feeling stressed out because of a class? Are you tearing your hair out over a tough homework assignment? The Academic Support Center is a peer tutoring service which is provided by the College for the benefit of the entire Assumption College community. It is in the D’Alzon Library on the second floor, 508-767-7071. It is supervised by the Director and staffed by students and qualified professionals who have been selected for their abilities as tutors in areas such as math, economics, statistics, accounting, quantitative methods, science, writing, and foreign languages. Students with special needs, including learning disabilities, are encouraged to call the Director at 508-767-7311. Small group tutorials in study skills are also available. The Academic Support Center is open Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m.–10:00 p.m., Friday 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and Sunday evenings 6:00–10:00 p.m. during the Fall and Spring semesters.
ID CARDS/STUDENT PARKING
Student IDs and parking stuckers are required of all students and can be obtained from Campus Police during designated times. Extended hours are offered at the beginning of each semester. The course registration form is needed in order for an ID card to be issued.
Online tutoring services are available through a partnership with the Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium.
Students can receive tutoring assistance in the following areas:
- Writing in all subject areas
- Math (Developmental through College Calculus)
- Anatomy and Physiology
