The Institute of Chemical Dependency Studies enters transfer agreement with CCE at Assumption's Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling programs

The Institute of Chemical Dependency Studies of Houston, TX and Continuing & Career Education (CCE) at Assumption College in Worcester, MA have announced a transfer agreement between the two institutions. Students who have completed the ICDS' Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor program may transfer up to 24 related credits into CCE at Assumption College's degree programs. These credits can go towards an Associate of Science in Social Science with a concentration in Human Services and Rehabilitation Studies OR a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services and Rehabilitation Studies with a concentration in Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling.

CCE at Assumption College's ONLINE program in Human Services and Rehabilitation Studies (HSRS) provides students with an enriching experience in a nurturing online community typically ranging from 8-12 students per class. Each student receives the individual attention needed to succeed. With Assumption’s new Blackboard Collaborate software, students also have a face-to-face experience. Many online students have found that the sense of community is as strong, if not stronger, than traditional classes.

CCE at Assumption students may also apply for credits awarded from certifications and licenses they have earned from work or life experience. Additionally, credits from accredited colleges and universities (earned with a grade of C- or better) can also be transferred. Thus, a total of 75 previous credits may be applied towards a bachelor's degree and 45 credits towards an associate's degree, saving transfer students considerable time and money.

Students who choose to complete the associate's program first can roll those credits into the Bachelor of Arts in Human Services and Rehabilitation Studies.

Assumption College has been educating professionals in the field of human services for more than 40 years, and is regionally accredited through NEASC. Human Services programs are delivered ONLINE, giving students across the nation access to Assumption's highly regarded curriculum and practical training, with the flexibility and convenience to complete their studies on their own time.

Carol Cloud, Director of ICDS-Houston states, "This partnership allows for advancement in education while providing much needed flexibility for so many adult students who are trying to pursue educational and career opportunities.”
